Malaysia as a whole is much safer than many other countries. There’s no civil ware here, no drug lords running around freely and you can’t buy firearms in the open market. We don’t even have news about school kids being shot at school.

Crime can happen anywhere, even in Singapore. Lately I have been reading about gang wars there. For those who are working there, please be extra careful. It is always smart to be careful. Don’t go around late at night, if you have too then go in groups. Always lock your car by putting a visible steering lock on your car. Stay away from quite places etc.
