Kite right?

The experience of Pasir Gudang Kite Festival is totally different from what we were used to feel back during the childhood. Way better to be true.

Every year in the month of February, since 1995, all kite masters will gather for a week at a field in Pasir Gudang Johor to show off their new design kites, and skills to fly those giant pieces in front of thousands of spectators.

These kite fliers come from all over the world including China, Japan, Europe, Australia, New Zealand  and Asia Pacific countries. This festival has become the major platform for the kite masters to create interest and promoting giant kites to the crowd.  It is said that Pasir Gudang Kite Festival is the most well organized event of its kind.

Annually, hundreds of enormous kites are flown here, covering the sky with different colours, shapes and sizes. Participants will bring the best of their collections, fly it high up with supporters of the country hanging their banners, posters and cheering out loud. It is indeed a blast week.

Well I think the best time to come is during the last three days of the festival as every participant is trying their best to fly the best kite. Because you know what, it is not just a show, but a competition for these professional fliers with great prizes to be won. Do pay a visit and don’t miss the thrill and excitement!

The Iskandar World Scrabble Festival consist of 3 World Class Scrabble Marathon

1. The 2009 World SCRABBLE® Championships will be held on November 26-29, 2009.
2. World Scrabble Team Event 2009 ( CAUSEWAY SCRABBLE CHALLENGE ) will be held on December 2-6,  2009.
3. World Youth Scrabble Championship will be held on December 8-10, 2009.

The Iskandar World Scrabble Festival consist of 3 World Class Scrabble Marathon will be held from 25th November to 10th December 2009. Hosted by The State Government of Johor and Sponsored by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) & Mattel Inc. (Maker Of Scrabble). This event is supported by Johor Tourism Action Council and Johor Bahru City Council and Sanction by WESPA (World English Scrabble Player Assoc.)

The 2009 World Scrabble Marathon that will be held in The Zon Regency Hotel, Johor Bahru will be one of the longest tournament many have ever played over the period of 12 days. With the Causeway Scrabble Challenge as its major competition, the historic rivals Malaysia and Singapore have now been merged into one team (The Causeway Team) making room for a team from Canada.

The teams are thus Australia, New Zealand, Causeway, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Nigeria plus 2 invited teams of International players picked byMalaysian Scrabble Association as representing outstanding players in the world scene.

Public and tourist are encourage to come to the Ballroom at level 6 of The ZON Regency Hotel to this very interesting and educational tournament, admission is free and there will be a lot of activities awaits you.
