Here, you will learn the history of how Johor come about with the help of Kangchu system introduced by The Teochew. Besides Teochew, Hokkien, Hakka, Cantonese & Hainanese came to Johor or earlier called Tanah Selatan ( Southern Land ) and establish their associations. Located at a 60-year-old building along Jalan Ibrahim in the heart of the city, the museum would feature a collection of artifacts related to the Cantonese, Hokkien, Hainanese, Hakka and Teochew clans, he said. Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman is expected to open the museum on Oct 3, which falls on the Mid-Autumn Festival day.
