Sukma 2010 Updates: Terengganu Win Again

Although it is not anywhere near the 61 gold medals they won two years ago at home, still the 47 gold, 30 silver and 43 bronzes spoke highly of their young athletes.

Johor didn’t do badly either. We are fourth overall with 40 gold, 39 silver and 53 bronzes.

A bulk of Johor’s gold medals came from atheletics. Johor ruled the athletic events at Sukan Malaysia XIII Melaka 2010. They won 9 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronzes. Johor won gold in the men and women’s pole vault (Rafiudin Che Omar and Farrah Wahidah), men’s high jump (Nauraj Singh), women’s shot putt (Rahila Othman) and javelin (Muhd Bakri Hamid). The remainder of their three gold medals were from men’s 1,500m (S. Mathialagan), women’s 400m (Nurul Asikin), men’s 800m (S. Mathialagan).

Congrats to the Johor contingent. Now that Sukma 2010 is finally over, sports’ fans are not divided anymore on which one to follow. Concentration is all for World Cup 2010.
