It will be located adjacent to the present Angsana Mall, which is currently at the intersection between Jalan Skudai and Jalan Tampoi. The development is believed to commenced this year. We will surely provide you with the updates of this project.

Uda to develop Angsana 2 project

Uda Holdings Bhd is to develop the Angsana 2 commercial project, which incorporates a street mall concept, by the end of next year, its chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said today.

He said Angsana 2, which would be located adjacent to Plaza Angsana, would be the first shopping complex with the street mall concept in Johor Baru.

“With the development of Angsana 2, Johor Baharu will have yet another modern and highly competitive shopping complex, but which safeguards the interests of the Malays,” he said.

He spoke to reporters after the Aidiladha sacrificial slaughter of animals at the Plaza Angsana car park, which was also attended by the Tunku Temenggong of Johor, Tunku Idris Sultan Ibrahim.

Nur Jazlan, who is the MP for Pulai, said the cost of construction of Angsana 2 was still under consideration.

He said a preliminary study indicated good demand and business opportunities for the Angsana 2 development.

The street mall concept was more attractive because stalls could continue to do business late into the night even after the complex had closed for the day, he said.

He said he believed that Angsana 2 would draw more people from Singapore who preferred the shopping atmosphere of the republic, but added that they would be able to buy goods at bargain prices.

On projects in the Iskandar Malaysia development corridor, Nur Jazlan said Uda Holdings was looking into several potential development projects but had yet to make any decision. — Bernama
