Plaza Kotaraya, Shopping Mall Uniquely Integrated with Mosque
The mammoth Plaza Kotaraya, covering 11 acre site, is approximately 1km north of Johor Bahru Immigration and Customs Complex. It is located along the busy Jalan Trus. It is linked to The Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel and has the Bukit Timbalan government administrative building behind it. Centrally located in town, its anchor tenant, UO Superstore offers a wide range of supermarket items, household appliances and value for money multiple branding apparels at competitive prices. Its food court on the top floor offers delicious Malay cuisine. As the complex also houses a mosque, you will not find any pork products or alcohol here. Plaza Kotaraya tends to get very crowded on weekends, when Singaporeans and locals alike hunt for fashion wear, leather goods, watches, electrical products and books.
Upon coming out of the Immigration and Customs complex, look out for the central police station and walk towards it. Plaza Kotaraya is just behind the only Hindu temple in town. Ask the warm and friendly Malaysians for direction if you are lost. They will be glad to show you the way.
The mall is opened daily from 10am to 10pm.
