The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail, passed away yesterday. The Sultan breathed his last at 7.15pm at the Puteri Specialist Hospital after he was admitted to the hospital earlier following an illness. Menteri Besar Datuk Ghani Othman made the announcement on TV3 at 11.20pm.
He was 77 and has ruled the state for almost three decades. The Sultan left behind his wife, the Sultanah of Johor Sultanah Zanariah and 10 children.
It is a sad day for all Johoreans, he will be missed. His death is all over …

Mt .Austin Downhill Challenge Race the first edition in the year 2010 will be held at Mount Austin, Johor Bahru for two days at the end of this month. The event is organized in conjunction of Element Cycle and ROAM (Riders on a Mission), supported by Malaysian Downhill Association (MDHA).

Faster clearance to JB
Singaporeans who frequent Johor, especially for holidays, daily groceries and relaxation, can now apply for fast-track entry into Malaysia through the state. For RM30 a year, they can get a pass (a sticker embedded with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip) that will be stuck in their passports.
