KDN and Immigration at Taman Setia Tropika Johor Bahru

Kementerian Dalam Negeri (KDN) Johor Bahru has a new building now in Taman Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru. This is the main place where many activities related to the government services takes place. The immigration for passport and permit renewal etc is also here. That’s why there’s no more hassle if we want to make a new passport or simply renewing them. The process is smooth and fast. Thanks to the improving system. The less of crowd in the building (immigration) is also believe to be due to the additional immigration available which are in JB town itself and also in Pekan Rabu.

My personal experience last April was to renew my maid’s permit. If I’m not mistaken it took place in the 7th floor. I get to know the location of the permit renewal from the friendly security guard at the parking lot and also the counter at the building lobby. We reached there at 12.50 pm and we were worried that maybe they will close for lunch. The process continues and there is no lunch break. They actually take turn (i think so…). But, the real thing I can’t believe because the entire process of permit renewal took about 5 minutes from 3 different counters entertaining us. That’s very fast. Before this, while we were renewing our maid’s permit in Johor Bahru, it took up to 30 minutes sometimes.

Maybe you have experience about this… You can share it with us in the comment section.
