Submitted by on December 4, 2009 – 9:05 PMNo Comment | 919 views

The Police has arrested two suspects to assist in investigations into the bombing of a restaurant which was due to open for business tomorrow (05/12/2009). Police believe the two men could shed some light into the bombing but are remaining tight-lipped as investigations are still under way. The Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Shariff, however, stressed the bombing was not a terrorist act.

The two, an unemployed 32 year old and a 44 year old factory van driver, were picked up from a house in Taman University.

Datuk Mokhtar said the explosive used was home-made and it is still being analysed by the Chemistry Department. Initial findings revealed that the bomb-makers had used nitrate, charcoal and other substances in making firecrackers, to make the explosive.
