Yesterday, we (Zach & MJ) alongside with our colleague, Mr. Tun, visited Nina Beryani Cafe in Taman Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru. This is the first time, under our new slot, Makan-Makan JBCool.com, we were invited to experience the fabulous traditional recipe lunch in such a cozy restaurant atmosphere. Before this, we did some dining review. However, this time, we interacted and interviewed the owner of Nina Beryani Cafe.

Back Ground

Nina Beryani Cafe has been operating in Taman Setia Tropika since early 2010. Before this, they have run Nina Beryani Gam and Cake House in Plaza Pelangi. Due to a new business strategy, they decided to leave Plaza Pelangi and establish their operation in a new location which has huge development potential and crowd.

Nina Beryani Cafe is managed by two aspiring young ladies, GG and Shahirah. The idea of running this restaurant came from Shahirah’s mother. Her mother’s Beryani and other cooking were so delicious that many would request her to cook  for various occasion. That triggers the establishment of the restaurant.

The Menu

We reached Nina Beryani Cafe on a bright Wednesday afternoon. As we sat, the menu was  delivered to us by Shahirah. The bright colourful menu captured my attention.  The menu was beautifully and creatively designed by  GG who graduated as an interior designer.

The signature dish of  Nina Beryani Cafe is their Specialized Chicken, Beef and Mutton Beryani. Besides that, local delights such as Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak are served as well. In future, they will be adding more traditional delicacies such as Soto.

I ordered Mutton Beryani and Longan Juice, MJ ordered Chicken Chop and Kalamansi Juice while Mr. Tun tested Nasi Lemak and Bandung Soda.
