Blood Donation Campaign All AEON/JUSCO Johor Bahru

The purpose of the Blood Donation Campaign  would be to collect as much blood for the blood bank, to cater for the Ramadan Month, plus we can try to break last year’s record as well, to show progression/growth. Since we only have this once a year, how about just coming for a maximum of 4 hrs during the 6-8 Aug, 11am-7pm. It’s only a few hours a year, or, if u really cannot make it, there are other options as below, that u can still participate and make your contribution to the Nation, and for Ansara Seremban.

6 ways U can contribute (pick one):

1. Become a Volunteer and help distribute flyers/pamphlets/leaflets and coax/usher the crowd to donate blood.

2. Become a Blood Donor – donate your OWN blood. (no draculas around)

3. Become A Donor or Sponsor (monetary funds, other stuff, etc)

4. Send in someone as Your Representative (ask your children/relative/friend to become a Volunteer on your behalf)

5. Promote to Your Colleagues at Your Workplace n ask All to Donate Blood at any Jusco Nationwide. Check if Your Company/Workplace provides any incentives for blood donation in terms of cash rewards, this could help.

6. Promote to Just About Everyone You Know, and make sure they come.

Pick any one of the 6 options above, and let’s get involved (I’m saying this bcos I got lukewarm response so far. If We do something, let’s do it well. If not I won’t bother), why don’t we do this, it’s only once a year, if each and everyone gives some form of support, it will be an Overwhelming Success, an even bigger success compared to if we didn’t give it our support. And, it may turn out just like how we did it at the bowling the other day, right? Many of us were there…, it was like a one big happy family :) )

To continue…The Volunteer’s main objective/duty is to pull in as many people from the crowd as possible to donate their blood, and usher in potential blood donors to a professional team of doctors and paramedics from the Blood Bank. The Volunteer will be given flyers/pamphlets/leaflets (I’ve attached the flyer in this email) and is required to distribute to passers-by at entrances/strategic locations around Jusco and 1-Utama. The Volunteer does not need to donate their blood (if takut etc) but if they do, it is a big bonus. Abang 10Jen had personally done it about 7 times, and he said it is always a thrill to do it again and again. When the blood donor finishes the process, they are required to rest for a few minutes and then beverages such as milo drink and biscuits, plus iron supplements, are served to them, and a Certificate from the Ministry of Health is also given to acknowledge their contribution (Blood Donors may claim from their workplace/companies if they have this incentive). Also, the nurses will record on their record booklets of ardent/frequent donors. If we have some monetary funds (so far no donors/sponsors have come forward yet, donation from our batch75 is most welcome), we may be able to employ part-timers for flyers distribution (if we are still short of volunteers to cover the distribution of flyers at all busy entrances), make the place a lively one, with side activities in order to attract the crowd.

If you are Volunteer, when you approach the potential blood donor, an adult between the ages of about 20-51 years of age, you may say something like this (i.e. the below is the Script Guideline):

Assalamu’alaikum or Hi, Sir/Madam/Encik/Puan/Cik/Adik, would u like to donate blood to the blood bank? The country is in need of blood, especially before the festive season since many accidents happen during this blood. Lets help save lives….they could be someone you know, or your friends or relatives. (…or something like that..ok?)
