map-senai-pasirgudangI think this is the most important and most exciting announcement of 2009. We can now use the new Senai-Pasir Gudang-Desaru Expressway (SPGDE).

The first phase of the Senai-Pasir Gudang-Desaru Expressway (SPGDE) is now open to the public, heralding a new chapter in the development of the eastern node of Iskandar Malaysia and by

extension, to Johor as a whole.

Linking air-transport and industrial centre Senai to Pasir Gudang, the first phase of the 77km-long expressway could not be said to be just another alternative road between the two places as it will cut the travel time from one hour to just 23 minutes.

*Time taken of SPGDE:*

1. Senai – Pasir Gudang: 27 mins

Senai – Cahaya Baru: 23 mins

Senai – Ulu Tiram: 13 mins

2. Ulu Tiram – Pasir Gudang: 14 mins

Ulu Tiram – Senai: 13 mins

Ulu Tiram – Cahaya Baru: 10 mins

3. Cahaya Baru – Senai: 23 mins

Cahaya Baru – Ulu Tiram: 10 mins

4. Pasir Gudang – Senai: 27 mins

Pasir Gudang – Ulu Tiram: 14 mins

It can be predicted with the completion of Senai-Pasir Gudang-Desaru Expressway (SPGDE), the economic and logistics development of Johor State will be accelerate and speed-up.

Better still, there will be no toll charges starting yesterday until October 10, 2009. Nevertheless, the opening of SPGDE still yet to well developed, so we urge all users to keep in mind with safety drive when using this new expressway
